In May 2020, Alex The Astronaut announced her album The Theory of Absolutely Nothing and released a subsequent single titled 'Lost'. Alex then released a music video for the track filmed in isolation that utilised a green screen to "travel through the galaxy and tropical locations with a newly-shaved head"
Alex performed at Laneway festival, Party In The Paddock, Beer & Cider Festival and The Drop Festival. Alex toured the UK and Europe including a solo gig at Camden Assembly. The next single I Like To Dance was released early August 2019 which Brooklyn Vegan described as tuneful folk-pop to tell a haunting story.
Alex released her follow up single "Split The Sky" in April. The track references the film franchise, Harry Potter, in the opening line where Lynn sings "I’ve been colder, watching Harry Potter looking older.". Alex The Astronaut tweeted the inspiration upon release, and James Phelps + Oliver Phelps who played the Weasley twins both retweeted the post.
Alex did a headline tour with Stella Donnelly, both artists were cited as "Two of the most important voices in Music". Alex performed at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton, UK and at the Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona. She did her first national Australian headline 'Space Tour' in November.
