Carey played Minor counties cricket infrequently for Norfolk from 1992 to 2003, which included 17 Minor Counties Championship matches and 12 MCCA Knockout Trophy matches. He made his List A debut against Wales Minor Counties in the 2001 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy.
