Timeline

1986

In 1986 Chuck returned to LA, working as an intern at the world famous Cherokee Recording Studios, home to nearly 300 Gold and Platinum albums.

1979

In 1979 Chuck moved back to Greensboro and started Crescent Recording Studios, producing radio commercials and demos for local bands.

1978

A native of North Carolina, Chuck grew up in Greensboro, the oldest of five children. He began playing trumpet at the age of ten, with his earliest musical influence being his father, a professional trumpeter. Shortly after graduating from high school, Chuck headed for Los Angeles, his first of many trips to LA. The trip was short-lived and he soon moved back to Greensboro, setting up his first recording studio. Teaching himself the electric bass, Chuck formed the group "Together", a Top 40/rock band which gained regional recognition in the late 70's playing college campuses and clubs throughout the Southeast. During this time he also studied trumpet with Dr. Eddie Bass at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. After "Together" disbanded in 1978, Chuck returned to Los Angeles, enrolling at The Dick Grove School of Music. While there, he studied record production with John D'Andrea, producer, arranger and composer for Eric Carmen (The Raspberries), "Dirty Dancing", and Billie Joe Royal, among others.

1970

During this time he also studied trumpet with Bob Findley, second trumpeter in Herb Alpert's 1970's re-vamped TJB.
