Williams is a former Freemason belonging to Evans Lodge 524 (2013-2016), former member of the American Legion of Morton Grove Post 134 (2014-2017), and The Elks lodge 1526 (2016-2018). He has volunteered for various non-profit organizations such as Convoy of Hope, National Alliance on Mental Illness, Restore the Fourth, & Chicago Alliance for Animals. Williams is an author of a fictional fantasy novel titled, Valor Tale. He is known to be an avid wrestling fan of All Elite Wrestling and M.U.G.E.N gamer.
In 2008, Williams would be featured in a CNN segment along with many others coming to the defense of a 16 year-old (at the time) sexual assault victim, Crystal Shinkle who was being cyberbullied on YouTube. He would also speak about his own experiences of being sexually assaulted by an older female family member at the age of 5.

David Earl Williams III (born January 8, 1984) is a United States Navy veteran, novelist, amateur voice actor, Co-Chairman for the Chicago Chapter of Unite America, and non-partisan candidate in the 2019 aldermanic election in Chicago's 48th ward against incumbent Harry Osterman, in which he received 16.25% (2,415) of the vote. In the 2008 presidential general election, he supported and voted for Barack Obama, he was also a former 2014 Republican primary candidate for Illinois's 9th congressional district, and former Illinois Libertarian Lt. Governor candidate. During the 2020 Democratic Party presidential primaries, he endorsed and supported Bernie Sanders for the nomination He is related to the late former Democratic Oklahoma State Senator Gene Stipe.
