Douglas Scott Sorenson (born Douglas Terry) was raised the quaint college town of Lafayette, IN. Upon graduating from Jefferson High School, he moved to New York City to attend the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. He left AMDA after completing his first year to study at HB Studios and The Creative Acting Company, taking master classes with the incomparable Uta Hagen and Tony Randall. He quickly found a home in Manhattan's Independent Theatre scene on the Lower East Side, where he worked on world premieres and re-imagined classics for the better part of a decade. It was during this time that he was discovered by a leading commercial agent, and booked over 20 National, International and Regional Campaigns for major corporations like Walmart, FedEx, and American Express. Always looking for fresh roles to develop, in 2006, he originated the role of 'Caleb' in Matthew Lopez's The Whipping Man (opposite Frankie R. Faison) at The Luna Stage Company. It is now one of the most produced plays in the country. Theatrical highlights include: 'Weena' in the world premiere of Baby, Oh Baby (Broadway World LA Award Nomination, Best Featured Actor), 'Edmund' in Jack Camfora's Poetic License, 'Mark' in Cody Daigle's Providence, and his dual role of 'Barry/Bonnefoi' in The Cell Theatre's The Hypochondriac, for which he received a New York Innovative Theatre Award Nomination in the Featured Actor category.
