Timeline
Screenplay "Mental" placed as Runner Up (Top 15/Top 3%) in the 2011 Midnight Black International Festival of Darkness.
In January 2010, his merchandising line "Bored Games Brand Board Games" was launched. It provides a humorous twist for nostalgic grown-ups-parodies of timeless classics enjoyed in their youth.
In the summer of 2009, he produced/directed/edited the Product Placement Parody "Last Season on 90210...", a 20-second recap of the entire first season.
Wrote the 13-episode webseries, "The Curtain", in 2008.
By August of 2007, he had grown frustrated not finding work in the marketing field and decided it was time to pursue his dream of writing/directing. Since arriving in California, he has taken on a number of positions to get his foot in the door-a Developmental Internship at Emmett/Furla Films and PA positions in various capacities across several media - and has even stepped in front of the camera from time to time. He also wrote his fifth feature-length screenplay, this time tackling comedy, and the dark comedy webseries "The Curtain" which is currently in production under his direction.
Upon graduation, Springer embarked on a 90 day cross-country road trip in 2005. When he returned home, he continued substitute teaching while he wrote an 82,000 word manuscript.
Frederick William Springer III enjoys being creative, expressing himself through multiple outlets and venues. While working on his BA in Electronic Filmmaking & Digital Video Design at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison, New Jersey, he wrote four feature-length screenplays in the horror/thriller genre, one of which he filmed in part for his Senior Thesis and was shown in the local Images Film Festival, April 2003, and the California Independent Film Festival, April 2008. During intermission before pursuing an MBA at FDU to widen his prospects in the job market, Springer entered an online "write your own Freddy vs. Jason ending" contest co-sponsored by New Line Cinema and became one of three semi-finalists in the Most Cinematic category, missing out on first place by a mere three votes. To keep busy at grad school, Springer created a production company to film campus beauty contest "Queen FDU" and released a DVD of the event. He also worked on developing Bored Games Brand Board Games and designed one of their products. To pay the bills, Springer worked as a Graduate Assistant in the Public Relations Office, a Resident Assistant for the Office of Residence Life, a Production Assistant on Ron Howard's "A Beautiful Mind," a Substitute Teacher in his hometown, and even had a stint at Victoria's Secret.
