In 2014/2015 He moved to Sydney, Australiain 2016-2018 He moved back to Auckland to get into the travel industry. He met his now husband Zack Robinson.

He then in 2013 moved and lived in London for a year to continue acting.

He returned in 2012 to the New Zealand College of Performing Arts in Wellington and Completed his Bachelor of Applied Arts (Acting).

He then packed up and moved to Los Angeles, started training straight away at The Hollywood Film Acting Academy with Acting Coaches David 'Shark' Fralick, Andrew Lauer, Cherie Johnson and James DiStefano and as of April 2009 is starting to train with 'A-Lister Acting Coach Aaron Speiser.

He then moved to Auckland in 2007 and studied music for six months at UNITEC Institute of Technology, in the Music Department to improve his singing abilities and to perform in several Auckland productions.

At the end of 2007 he decided to return to Wellington and complete third year at The New Zealand College of Performing Arts and graduated with a Advanced Diploma in Stage and Screen Arts which is at Degree Level.

Jackson made his American TV debut appearing on Cable Tru TV show Operación Repo (2006) also known as Operation Repo and had worked and acted on the film Raven (2010) starring Roland Kickinger and Steven Bauer.

His birth name was 'Jackson Theodore Routley' but he changed his last name to Taylor in 2005 to add his stepfather Brian Taylor's last name who has been his father since he was 3 years old. He also added McDowell to his middle name as McDowell is his mother's maiden name, making his full name 'Jackson Theodore Routley McDowell Taylor'.

He was also a singer and for a few years was a keen dancer, but put dancing aside when in 2004 he enrolled at the New Zealand College Of Performing Arts in Wellington and trained there for 2 years, graduating with a Diploma in Stage and Screen Arts.

Jackson had his TV debut on the TV series Sensing Murder (2004) in 2007 and 2008 in New Zealand and had a thing for competing, acting in two Film Festivals as the Lead Actor in the short film 'Under Control' which screened all around New Zealand, and the short film Thriller/Drama 'Face Value'.

Was a hip-hop dancer from 1997-2004 and then stopped because he was going to Drama School and just wanted to Focus on Acting.

He is also a huge Friends (1994) fan and owns the entire Series and has watched the entire series (10 Seasons) around 4-5 times and counting.

Jackson Robinson-Taylor (full name: Jackson Routley Robinson-Taylor, née Jackson Taylor born 5 March, 1987 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada) is an actor from New Zealand and as of 2009 is living and acting in Hollywood, California. Jackson is also a trained singer in jazz, opera, classical and Broadway and trained with the Queen's Honorary Music Coach 'Maureen Potter' Jackson grew up in Taupo, New Zealand and considers that his hometown even though he trained in Wellington and Auckland. At college in New Zealand he was in the Performing Arts Arena, performing in over 25 productions throughout his 5 years there.

After he got married on 28.06.2019 to his partner Zack Robinson, he changed his name, to his new married name of Jackson Robinson-Taylor.
