Though he passed away on 10 February 2019, his death was not announced until almost a month later on 8 March 2019.
In 2012 Vincent had to have the lower half of his right leg amputated due to a leg infection he contracted because of complications from peripheral artery disease. Vincent now has a prosthetic right foot and sometimes has to use a wheelchair to get around.

In an interview in 2007, he was asked about his 1996 car accident. His answer was "Y'know, I have no idea what you're talking about. I don't remember being in an accident.".
Resides in Redwood, Mississippi, just north of Vicksburg. He has a secluded home and horse ranch. He has spent a great deal of time in Mississippi over the years, training in horsemanship and skydiving at one time or another in North Mississippi for the most part. [November 2004]

He remained very busy during the 1970s, appearing in high-profile productions alongside such stars as John Wayne, Rock Hudson, Charles Bronson, Slim Pickens and Robert Mitchum.
He made his first appearance on-screen in The Hardy Boys: The Mystery of the Chinese Junk (1967), before appearing in Journey to Shiloh (1968) and in "Danger Island" on the Hanna-Barbera kids TV show The Banana Splits Adventure Hour (1968).
