In December 2019, Kim made his small screen return after the hiatus in the highly anticipated tvN drama Crash Landing on You alongside Hyun Bin, Son Ye-jin and Seo Ji-hye.The show became a cultural and phenomenal hit locally and worldwide. It is the highest rated tvN drama and the third-highest-rated Korean drama in cable television history and also one of the most watched shows on the online streaming giant Netflix.
