Entrata was a college junior studying technology communication management at the Mindanao University of Science and Technology but she placed it on hold when she joined Pinoy Big Brother. During an interview in 2019, she mentioned that in school, she was more into social studies, arts and music, and extra-curricular activities like dancing and other events. She stated that Mathematics and English are not her best subjects; that is why when she entered the collegiate level, she chose to major in the latter to improve on the language.

On February 23, 2018, after her debut album under Star Music, Entrata had her first major solo concert which was sold out within 50 minutes prior to release of tickets at the Kia Theater, entitled "The Dream Maymay In Concert" featuring Edward Barber and her other guests such as Enchong Dee and 4th Impact. Her concert led to a tour titled "The Dream Tour" beginning on April 13, 2018 in Imus Sports Complex, Cavite.

On March 23, 2018, she had back-to-back concert appearances. MayWard performed first in 4th Impact Rise Up Concert at Sky Dome and straight away went to Kia Theatre for Maymay's special performance with Maja Salvador at MAJA on Stage Concert.

After winning Big Brother, Entrata signed a deal with Star Magic and began her acting career by starring in the romantic comedy Loving in Tandem (2017). Entrata's other film appearances include Da One That Ghost Away (2018) and Hello, Love, Goodbye (2019). She also played supporting roles in horror-fantasy drama television series La Luna Sangre (2018) and Hiwaga ng Kambat (2019).

Throughout her career, Entrata has expressed an interest in singing and modelling. Her eponymous debut album, released in 2017, reached Gold and Platinum status. Entrata also covered in different magazines and walked in different fashion shows. She was also recognized as the first Filipina to walk in the Arab Fashion Week.

On the evening of March 5, 2017, Entrata ended up in the final two where she received 42.71% of votes, over Kisses Delavin who got 31.27% of public votes, making her the winner of the longest season in the history of Pinoy Big Brother, beating 30 housemates in total.

On June 2017, she became one of the official cast members of the popular television series La Luna Sangre, with a supporting role as "Apple Toralba". Her self-titled musical album was also released in June which earned her a Gold Record Award on the first day of its release.

On August 2017, at the MOR Pinoy Music Awards 2017 awards, she received the Best Collaboration trophy for the song “Baliw” which she recorded and performed with Edward Barber.

On September 2017, Entrata and Barber, popularly known as "MayWard", played the lead roles for their first film Loving In Tandem that was released on September 13, 2017, nationwide. Later that year, her album achieved platinum status.

On October 2017, she won the Best Novelty Song Artist of the Year award from Eduk Circle. A week later, MayWard won the Push Group/Tandem at the PUSH AWARDS, an annual digital media event of ABS-CBN held at the ASAP Chillout. Their fans, the MayWards or MayWard Flyers, also captured the Ultimate Fan Award for posting the highest number of tweets among all fan clubs during the seven-week voting period.

ELM Tree Foundation, a charity organization founded by Edward Barber, Laura Barber, and Maymay Entrata, was formally launched last December 19, 2017.

Fresh from Pinoy Big Brother house, Maymay Entrata together with on-screen partner Edward Barber joined McDonald's as endorsers. On September 2017, Maymay was appointed as one of Vivo (technology company) Philippines brand ambassadors. In October 2017, she became one of the ambassadors for Vice Ganda’s make-up line Vice Cosmetics. In November 2017, she also became the endorser for Broadway Gems (Philippines fashion accessories brand). In May 2018, she became the endorser for Nestea Milk Tea. Maymay Entrata became one of the Celebrity Ambassadors of Tik Tok (app) Philippines (A Global video community). In June 2018, Maymay became the endorser of Belo Essentials Papaya Soap. On November 2018, she became the brand ambassador of Megan Beauty Products.

In 2016, Entrata auditioned for Pinoy Big Brother Lucky Season 7 and was chosen for the Teen Edition. Entrata was the Lucky Teen Housemate chosen by the Celebrity housemates after accomplishing 6 out of 7 lucky tasks to become a fully pledged housemate for the Teen Edition. She entered the house a day after the two Celebrity Housemates, Jinri Park and Nikko Natividad & McCoy DeLeon were announced as the two Lucky Stars finalists.

Starting at the age of 14, Entrata began auditioning for various reality television shows to fulfill her ambition of becoming an actress. She first attempted auditioning for Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Clash 2010 when she was in high school but was unfortunately rebuffed. Five years later, she tried joining the same show's sixth season: Pinoy Big Brother: 737 but also failed. Entrata also tried her luck at talent competition television series like The Voice, and Pilipinas Got Talent but she also did not make it.

Marydale "Maymay" Entrata (born May 6, 1997) is a Filipina actress, singer, and model. She came to prominence in 2016, after winning Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7. Born in Camiguin, and raised in Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental, Entrata aspired to be an actress from a young age and had auditioned in different talent shows to fulfill her dream.

Maymay Entrata was born in Camiguin on May 6, 1997. She and her older brother Vincent were left in the care of their grandparents in Cagayan De Oro as their father left them behind when she was just a year old, and her mother, Lorna, decided to work in Japan to provide for the whole family. Entrata also has a younger half brother named Rio from her mother's family in Japan.
