A former Loyola Marymount University Men's Soccer standout, Erush is now in his 10th year on Head Coach Paul Krumpe's staff. In 2015, he was promoted to Associate Head Coach.
In December 2015, Erush served as the Head Coach for the Maccabiah Pan AM games in Santiago, Chile. And in July 2017 will serve as Head Coach for the Maccabiah Games in Israel.
On May 2, 2015, Erush proposed to Ally Siegel. The couple got married in Santa Barbara, California on July 16, 2016. They currently live in Culver City, California.
From 2011 to 2015, Erush was a United States Soccer Federation Southern California Scout where he evaluated, developed and scouted youth players for the U.S. National teams. He has also served on two NSCAA committees, is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and is on the NSCAA Division I All-American Committee for the Far West Region.
Erush, having played with the amateur Hollywood United team in Los Angeles for several years, was hired as the first ever head coach of the Hollywood United Hitmen in the USL Premier Development League in 2009. He moved to become player-assistant coach of Orange County Blue Star in 2010. That year he also headed up the USA team that played at the Maccabiah Australia International Games, going on to earn the Silver Medal.
From 2009 to 2014 Erush coached the South Bay Force and the Fram Soccer Club, which became the top ranked club in California. In July 2014, he joined the L.A. Galaxy Academy Youth Staff alongside the likes of Peter Venegas, Michael Munoz and Ante Razov.
In January 2007 Erush was hired as an assistant coach to Paul Krumpe with the men's soccer team at Loyola Marymount University. In 2015, he was promoted to Associate Head Coach.
As a youth player, he spent time with the United States U-14, U-16 and U-18 National teams and was team captain of the U-14 and U-16 teams. In 2005 he represented the United States as a member of the Maccabiah team for the 17th Maccabiah Games in Israel where the team went on to win a Silver Medal.
Erush spent time playing for the Colorado Rapids (2004), Chivas USA (2005), Miami FC (2006) with international playing experience for Hapoel Ashkelon F.C. in Israeli, Lombard Papa in Hungary, and Olimpia Balti in Moldova.
Erush was a four-time All-WCC selection (2000, 2001, 2002), was named First Team in 2003 and served as team captain during his junior and senior seasons. He was named First Team NSCAA All Far West Selection in 2002 and was named First Team All-America by the Jewish Review in 2003. During his last three years, Michael helped the LMU Lions advance to the NCAA Tournament, and in 2003 finished in a first-round bye and national seeding (#13) in the postseason. In December 2003, Erush graduated a semester early with a degree in Business Management and went on to earn his M.A. in Education from LMU in the summer of 2010.
Erush was a 2000 NSCAA High School All-America selection from Birmingham High School, and was honored as the 1999 LA Times and Daily News Player of the Year
Erush was a youth international player, and captain of the US national team in the U14-U18 age range from 1996 through 2000, and was part of the USMNT pool in 2001, but was never called up to the senior roster.
