On January 22, 2020, Brown claimed Nick Cannon had once performed fellatio on him while dressed as a woman. Cannon responded to the claim on Instagram, commenting "When I first saw this I thought it was fucking hilarious!!!!", and later on saying: "We need better support systems for our youth and take care of our own. I watched various of this young brothers videos and all I see is a cry out for help. So I don't know if there are any real leaders or solid individuals in this young man's life but let's embrace him and tighten him up so he doesn't become another lost victim to these Hollywood circumstances."

Several months later, on September 2, 2018, Brown, recently released from a medical facility where he'd been hospitalized for undisclosed reasons, was arrested after breaking into Legends Restaurant & Venue, a Las Vegas establishment owned by his childhood friend Danny Boy, and attempting to change the locks. Police found Brown on the roof of the building, after security cameras showed him entering the building without permission.

He claimed the oldest of his children is between the ages of 16 and 18, meaning Brown would have been between 13 and 15 at the time of their birth. Police were called to the scene after he struck her in the parking lot of a police station and he was found by officers to be in possession of methamphetamine, an illegal stimulant drug, at the time of the incident.
