On Sunday January 22, 2005, neighbors at her Juhu residence noticed that she not collected her milk nor her newspapers from her doorstep for the last three days. The neighbors notified the Secretary of the building, who in turn notified the police.

1984

In 1984, Praveen Babi wrote an autobiography and left the manuscript with U.G.Krishnamurthy. The book was never published.

1983

Was involved to a man named Abdul Ella in 1983. She met him thru her spiritual guru U.G. Krishnamurthy. Abdul was from Dubai. She met him at a party hosted by Cookie Bhatia. He was a rich business man who ran department stores in the Gulf countries. Abdul was smitten by her , but at the time Praveen Babi was involved with a jockey sized man named Guy Davies. Abdul worked for multi millionaire Galadhari family of Dubai. Abdul Ella was married to a lady named Shamsha. Shamsha sister Khaitja is married to one of the Galadhari brothers. Abdul Ella was constantly visiting Bomaby to meet Praveen Babi. Abdul was very friendly with Feroz and Sanjay Khan.

1980

She went to school with actress Bindiya Goswami's older sister Pearl, so she knew Bindiya as a little girl. Parveen and Bindiya later acted together in the big-budget film The Pride (1980), but the shooting was delayed, because of Parveen's absence. As Bindiya later explained it, "We were told she was suffering from jaundice (Parveen's mental illness reportedly began at this time) and not what had actually happened to her. For two months the set where Jeete hain shaan se was to be shot stood idle. Eventually, Parveen returned and shot it quickly. She had put on some weight but looked lovely! From no angle could one say she was unwell". She had warm memories of Parveen, with whom she worked again in Self-Respecting (1982). She said, "Parveen was my sister Pearl's friend. She treated me like a kid sister, a bachcha. Pearl didi (who worked as a air hostess) would bring make-up from abroad - Mary Quant, Rimmel products. Parveen picked up what she liked from them. We shared make-up on the set too. We shared a comfort level.".

1976

Her most glorious moment was when Time Magazine chose to display her photograph on their cover page in 1976, depicting the changing face of Bollywood and Bollywood actresses. After acting in her last movie, Akarshan, she suddenly disappeared from public view and became more or less a recluse. It is known that she took up interior designing, and had a very close circle of friends. She then left for the United States of America and was not seen nor heard for about 10 years. She created a stir when she filed a writ petition in the Bombay High Court, charging several dignitaries, including Bollywood actor, Amitabh Bachchan, for attempting to kill her. This petition was dismissed by the Court for want of evidence.

1970
